Albemarle Physical Therapy Associates (APTA), established in 2001, is Albemarle County’s premier outpatient physical therapy team serving all ages of our Charlottesville area community from young athletes to geriatrics and everyone in between. All of our therapists are Doctors of Physical Therapy with advanced training on the most up-to-date techniques, treatment plans, and equipment. We do not use Physical Therapy Assistants or Aides, so your initial examination and all subsequent therapy sessions are provided one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
We provide hands-on manual therapy techniques and personalized, research-based exercise programs for the treatment of all orthopedic, sports and work-related musculoskeletal injuries, as well as post-operative rehabilitation. We also utilize postural education and functional movement retraining to help you maintain your improvements for life. We offer a safe, friendly environment staffed with knowledgeable clinicians who provide quality service everyday to each patient as an individual. Our patients experience in-depth examinations, education and motivation, and hands-on therapy while working directly with a Doctor of Physical Therapy every visit.
As physical therapists, we enjoy working directly with patients to restore pain-free movement and function. Motivating patients to adopt lifestyle changes to improve their health is very rewarding to us. We emphasize patient education by teaching self-care and at-home exercise programs on the first visit. Our goal is to get patients back to doing the things they want to do everyday. We achieve this goal by helping patients gain movement, get moving, and get better!
